With focus on Kilembe and Karusandara Sub-counties, FOP-K is currently running a campaign to demand for financial and material support to enable us reach out to the population that lost lots of their property and currently being hosted in camps that are hard to leave in in relation to the current COVID-19 pandemic requirements/guidelines by the Uganda Ministry of Health and WHO. At the moment people are struggling for survival and resettling with little or no attention being paid to the guidelines which puts their lives at risk.

The two sub counties were repeatedly hit by heavy rains in the months of April and May 2020 that caused over-flow of river Nyamwamba, displacing many and sweeping off the only hospital that the communities had (Kilembe Mines Hospital) where even a patient who was admitted died in the process. The situation is greatly affecting girl child, woman and the elderly in addition to those with chronic illnesses and those already living with HIV and AIDS that needs close attention for proper management. Kilembe and Karusandara Sub Counties are located in Kasese district based in the Western part of Uganda at the slopes of Mt. Rwenzori.

Our APPEAL is for everyone to genuinely share the meager resources that could be at your disposal so that we are be able to uplift our brothers and sisters facing this hard moment. Your support is a blessing to the girl child and the elderly person being affected here.

Do not hesitate to contact; “Your support brings a smile to thousands of people”.
